InDesign Challenge - MAGAZINE - 70 min Thurs 17th Feb (due to technical issues date changed from Thurs 10th Feb 22 and Mon14th)

   


Subject: Unit 20 InDesign challenge - Magazine 

CHALLENGE - Formative assessment
Using your skills gained over the past five weeks you are to now put your skills into practice.
Recreate ONE of the Magazine front pages in InDesign.
This will also be a hand out so you can have it next to you on the table top. 
All images are preset and you may choose which ones you want to use.
Images are in shared drive - 
S:\Subjects\Media & Film Studies\CTech L3 Digital Media 2021-23\InDesign Challenge Task Year 12
You may use Photoshop to adapt images if necessary.
You must copy this design as closely as possible to receive the highest mark.

  • Create a thumbnail drawing of your design - Correct scale, size, proportions, x indicates images etc
  • You will have 70 minutes to complete this challenge. 
  • This is an individual task showing your knowledge and skills gained in InDesign
  • You must type your name at the bottom of the page your create 8pt.
  • You will save this document as InDesign Challenge Task 5 
  • You must upload your final jpeg image on your blog as evidence of your final assessment and write two paragraphs to evaluate your process.

InDesign Tutorials. 

Basic Intro and short video tutorials 1-13 (Unit 20, Unit 3)



Go through these tutorials in your own time as homework/ research - watch, listen and learn.
Complete at least three a week (they are up to 10 min each)


Tutorials will be given and a lead follow approach
 to begin with till all students are sufficient. 

File formats and saving strategies used also constantly - see print out in exercise book to help- know jpeg, png, tiff etc


Two - three lessons per week will be developing skills using InDesign (Desktop Publishing Software – DTP) will be used throughout with key areas on design elements, typography use and layouts explained, demonstrated and utilised to gain confidence with software.
